Default For the highway racers/street racers -- a quick read

Last night on the highway someone in a WRX and another guy in a Tiburon were flying along in semi-low traffic. They were probably doing about 90-100mph.

So...my letter to you, O Street Racer:

80% of the time, in the evenings, if I am driving I am usually with my wife and 1 year old daughter. I'm sure I'm not the only one in that situation.

Please be aware that if you end up causing any harm to my family, I would have no problem going to jail for a very long time for going BruceleeSubEd4x4GGG on you and posting the video in OT so that people can WTLW your video.

Thank you.

I drive 90 on the highway all the time...as do the cars behind and infront of me...so does that mean I am always street racing...

You should be aware that 80% of the time, in the evenings, I am driving alone and I've had three beers with dinner.

You've been warned. Your daughter's death will not be on my head.

Yeah...when I commute to work..I go 90 (traffic permitting). So I'm racing myself...so I'm always teh winn4r!!

Going that fast on the street (re: not highway) is dumb. I had a revelation last night myself, I was going fast on the loop around campus (top of 3rd gear fast) and there's a car in the other lane with a jogger on my side (in the breakdown lane). I had a quick freak out to make sure I was in the dead center of my lane, but if the jogger had been any further over, I'd either have hit the other car or him, or both. So no more speeding for me unless its absolutely deserted curvy roads (which don't really exist around here, sadly).

Around here the top speed is usually 60-65. If I saw you going 90 here, with a Tiburon on your tail, then I'd figure that you were either:

a) street racing

b) trying to have your cars mate at a high rate of speed

And for those that say too bad for families on the road...I'm going to buy me a POS minivan for $150, load it up with kiddie crap, sans kids, and plow into the next autocross/drag race event in town (video cam rolling of course).

Well in New England if your not doing at least 90 in the left hand lane you are going to get run off the road...and tailgating does not exsist around here...I think people around here drag each other to try and save on gas...it really is getting worse and worse...if that is even possible. But I am always doing at least 80-90 on the highways around here...with people right on my ass...or passing me on the right...so I guess for now on I will call 'commuting to work', 'street racing to work'...

75-85mph here on the freeway (when traffic permits). Of course there is always that soccer mom on her cellphone in that huge ass SUV holding up the rest of traffic.

90-100 on the freeway is not that fast, I think we've all crept above 90 for a bit on the open road before we even realized it.
But yeah street racing sucks y0!

Doing 90 on the hw in the left lane is one thing, however, it makes me very angry to see people doing 90 weaving through traffic and squeezing in between cars. It also makes me angry when people are doing 65 in the left lane, thereby making people go 90 around them. Get out of the left lane if you see people flying past you, it makes things safer for everybody because people are always going to speed. (Not directed to anyone here, just the general idiots on public roads.)
