Buy an R180... You can get custom axles made by the driveshaft shop to mate to your R160 hubs.

I used a Kaaz in a car that made 360 ft-lbs at the wheels last year through many hard launches and it was fine. The Cusco R160 isn't going to be any stronger than the Kaaz.

So your using a r180 rear dif w/ beefy axles but mated to non r160 hubs. Is this so you wouldn't need to change your brake setup?

I know someone running the Cusco (r160) who beats the hell out of his car and it's holding up fine. He also broke his stock r160.

What kind of power are you putting out? What kind of racing are you doing? Who installed the Kaaz rear diff?

I've had no problems with my Kaaz 1.5 way and it has taken a fair amount of abuse on a stage 3 (not crazy power but significantly more than stock). If it was installed improperly or wasn't given Kaaz gear oil every 3K miles then it might not be the rear diffs fault. I also use BG fricition modifiers in the rear diff as well. It should hold up just fine if its installed and maintained properly IMHO.

FWIW, I also broke my stock r160 carrier(from an 01rs). I swaped it out with a 04 wrx carrier and havn't hard a problem yet. A cusco or kaaz would be the way to go if you have the $$$. I am putting down less TQ then you though (only 330)

I will find out what the ATS diffs are rated at exactly. They make some pretty stout options. Do you want a 1.5 way or a 2 way?

I'm kind of with DWX on this one though, you can find an r180 pretty cheap for just the diff and then get the axles. Depends on how good you are at shopping around.
