There's nothing wrong with the hardware you listed, it's just that you sound like that spending 2800 dollars is all that stands between you and 11's.

Ed--Steve's just joking around, i know he didn't mean anything by it...besides everybody thinks they're a good driver when they drive small turbo's All kidding aside i guess you got your car up and running somewhat? Steve you're right the car should be running tons faster than it is But i'm still happy with the 11.7 the first time out. All in due time. BTW what track to you normally run at, if you're not too far, we should make some passes before the season closes. (Thank god for New England weather )

Thanks Louis

I hope to get out before the season is over..waiting for custom parts to be made has been the name of the game for me since I started my project, but im confident that ill lay down some good passes once I have everything sorted out.

Peace,

Getting there isn't so bad. THere are alot of things I would have done differently... but well. Anyway, staying in the 11s is a completely different chore.

You'll need:

clutch: go ahead, get a used one. lol! new: $500-600

tires: the RE92s CAN handle it, but they wear out REAL quick. PLus, depending on the track, you may find that they just aren't enough to prevent massive wheel spin. Used RE92s can be had for ~200 or so. New cheapies (Falkens, 225/50s) can be had for $350 or so... or go balls out an get some Proxes, ~$500-600. But, then be prepared for other problems.

tuning: you can tune it yourself, but unless you are well versed in tuning the UTEC with nitrous, I highly recommend going to a shop that definitely is. Expect to pay $400-600.

boost controller: $50-500. The stock solenoid running off the UTEC has its limits.

recommended: plugs, engine/tranny mounts, short shifting/bushings, some suspension and brake work. Figure at LEAST another $500.

tranny: don't expect the tranny to last. lol! trust me. There are a few "holy gear boxes" out there that have "held up". There are, however, far more that have not. $700-$6000.

motor: the WRX longblock is a decent 4 cylinder powerplant. But if you think its reliable in the 11 sec range... forget about it. Again, getting it there is easy... keeping it there, not so much. $1,000-8,000

Unforseen: axles, diffs, etc. $150++++++

So at any rate... getting INTO the 11s can be done for cheap... lol! But, staying there won't be. Trust me.

So there ya go... an additional $3500 (minimum) to think about.

Redline8k and Myself might be entering the fastest stock 2.0L class with ej207s in a few weeks. A month or so ago we ran against each other and produced decent times.
I know he ran faster, but we ran against each other at a local event and got this:
He pulled a:
12.465 @111.23
I ran a:
12.58 @108.29

I'll let him post his setup if he choses to.
Mine was incomplete 93 pump map reflash (topspeed)
Sz49, TXS v1 tmic, PE:800cc, exedy twin clutch in a GF8

In 2 weeks we are gonna be going at it again. This time both with race gas maps

If someone dumps $7-8k in their car and only runs 13 flat it's not because they are anti-nitrous, it's because they can't get the car off the line properly.

Whats that got to do with an EJ20? Sure thats quick... but you also have twin-turbo's and almost 50% more motor (2.7l vs 2.0l, 6cyl. vs 4 cyl.).
