Default Desperate for Help with Cobb AP.. Please help

my Cobb and helix came in today and I think I might have fvcked up the ECU.. like I went through all the steps..

Plugged in green test connectors under the wheel

Turned on the car(got the CEL flashing)

Plugged in the AP itself

Initialized and had me select a map..

I went with the stage1 91 Octane since I don't have catless DP on yet

Then it told me to turn off the car and re-start and I accidently started up the ignition(I'm a dumbass)

Once that happened it went straight to the "Could not communicate with ECU! Press OK/Cancel message?"

After that I tried to repeat the whole process but I can't and the car will not start beyond the ON position, like the ignition wont start. Also the CEL does not blink even when the test connectors are plugged in..

I am really scared right now.. Has this happened to anyone? Is my ECU killed? I really need some help in figuring this out? Please help me if you can.

that shouldn't kill the ECU. . .stop what yo'ure doing, walk away, and start again later. Be sure to you have the init connector plugged too.

I don't think it's friend either but right now I am still uncertain

Take the car out of test mode (unplug the green connectors and init connector). Disconnect the neg battery cable, apply the brake pedal for about a min or two. Leave the battery unplugged for at least an hour, give it probably 1 hr 15 mins. This will reset the ECU.

Plug the neg battery cable back in and attempt to start the car BEFORE you try the AP again.

If that doesn't work, attempt to reflash the ECU again using the same base map you tried before. Shut EVERYTHING off in your car, radio, air, heat, etc. Follow the directions in the book exactly and be very very careful what you do. Double check each step you're about to make. Plug in green connectors, INIT connector, etc.

If you try the reflash again and it still won't start and communicate with the AP, then you need to stop, call Cobb on Monday (since they're closed today) and ask them for help. 1-801-713-0035

I would also look on Cobb's forum for help to. http://www.wrxforum.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi but more than likely you're going to have to call Cobb.

Hope all this helps and good luck.

csewrx,

Thanks so much for the help.. it worked!!

I took off the negative adapter on the battery and let the car sit for about an hour. Then I tried to start it and it wouldn't; so my friend said we should try hooking the Cobb back up. So we did and we were able to revert it back to stock mode. I was really glad it turned out okay..

running the Stg1 right now.. took it out for a little bit.. went to about 100mph, car felt great.

Glad it worked out. I really didn't do anything, just said what was already in the Cobb AP owners manual. If you have any other issues, start at page 46 in the book. A ton of stuff is in there.
