Default Good boost gauge for AFI cars

One problem that that I've found with all the boost gauges available is that they're scaled for people running monster boost. While I love my VDO gauge, I really don't have any need for a gauge that goes to 25 psi of boost. My recent order from Summit Racing included an insert announcing that they are now carrying Stewart Warner gauges. I noticed that Stewart has a boost gauge that "only" goes to 15 psi. Hurrah!

Black 2-1/16" gauge

They actually make gauges with black and white faces, in both 2-1/16" and 2-5/8" size. Should cover just about everyone.

Just passing this along in case anyone else is looking for something like this. It's what I'll get next, if I can justify ditching my VDO.

I would keep the boost gauge you have right now... it does the job.... besides you are always gonna be wanting just 1 psi more... and then you build your motor (aka you blew your motor first) and then you'll use the entire range of the boost gauge...

I didn't post this as a "please advise me" thread, but more as a good source for anyone who might be searching for a boost gauge that has a good range for AFI cars. My VDO gauge goes to 25 psi - ain't no way I'll be running anything close to that on a stock '99 2.5 engine.

But you're right, I don't really see a good reason to toss the gauge I have, just to get a bit of extra resolution. Them again, when did AFI ever have anything to do with "good reason"?!

What wrong with the Autometer, it goes to 20 psi. Still too high?

I've maxed my 30 psi autometer. I've switched to the Turbosmart boost controller/gauge.
