Hitokiri installed an emanage in my car this weekend. went great until we tried to start it. it cranks and cranks, then i let go of the key to stop trying and it backfires then starts, then runs fine. we changed the second jumper to 2-3 so we got 12 volts instead of 5 and it still does it. when the wires are routed around the eman, so its basically stock wiring, it starts fine. weird thing is that it does it with just a j&s safegaurd wired too. we tried another ecu and it did the same thing. we are completely out of ideas. we have checked the wiring over and over and its flawless. anyone have any ideas? anyone expierience anything like this before? side note: we recently had the perfect power smt6 wired in and the car would not start at all. it would actually give a spark when the key was in accessory mode. plug in the provided bridge to ground out the ignition signal and it would run fine though! 2nd side note: if you know where i live, blow up my car please!

Sounds like you grabbed a power wire for one of the units that cuts out when it's cranking. You need one that stays hot when it's cranking, otherwise you'll get the exact results you have now.

yeah we re-wired the power to the cig. lighter. whats funny is we actually just did this before hand. we removed it from the power supply on the ecu, to avoid interference.
rediculous. |

Heh, at least it's a simple solution. I've seen it done before, and I was warned about it before I installed my first EMS mod (apex ITC). Don't feel bad, it happens to everyone at least once if they're not forewarned.
