Default Boost Gauge Light Help!

Well im in need of some help. 02 Wrx, stock boost gauge i think. since ive had the car ive never been able to get the light on my boost gauge to turn on is there some sort of switch? or maybe a fuse? i tested the yellow wire to see if there was power goin to the gauge but didnt find any results can someone help?

Yellow is the variable ground (or it was on mine.) and the black was hot with parking lights on. I don't recall what bulb was inside. It's been two years since I've seen it.
