Great... found this thread a little late. I have 6 filters that I bought from Jamie on 12/14/05. They are F11R14E2. So should I just try and see if my local dealership will swap these? My car is NA... the turbo filters are used on NA cars now?

I wish SOA would just stick to one freakin filter and stop changing!

For swapping filters, I think you pretty much have to deal with whomever you bought them from.

The dealer should exchange them for you but they tend to give you a hard time before doing it.

They said that SOA doesn't even want them putting 080's on. They didn't even give me my unused 080 back. I ended up having to buy a 100 which was okay...except I already bought 6 100's from Jamie already!

Is it true SOA doesn't want people using the 080's anymore either? Can anyone here confirm this? I'm just curious because the 080's have served me very well through the daily grind of the Southern California commute and 3 track days. It's a little sad for one to just be taken from me the way that it was! j/k

God bless,
Loren
Never heard about any issues with the '080 filter, they look pretty much identical to the '100 filter (I have stock of both in my oil filter "stash"). I'm working through my '080 filters before I start in on the '100s and I've had zero issues with the '080s. I bet your dealer was just being over cautious about the filters due to the recent leaking issues with the '09A filters.

As I said above, that filter appears to be identical to the '100 filter. Whomever you purchased them from must have stumbled upon these older filters on their shelf, as I don't believe they have been sold for 8 months or more. But again, I wouldn't hesitate to use either the '080 or '100 filters.

Can someone confirm that the current 15208AA100 filter is made by Toyo Roki again? I need to get some new filters. Thanks.

Yes,
I bought one yesterday,

On the side is printed 15208aa100

Toyo Roki

I can get you a picture if you really want to see a picture of a cute little black oil-filter.

Thanks. No need for pictures. I think it's time for me to stock up some more Toyo Roki filters!

I just bought 5 filters off of someone that had them laying around. Is this still an issue? On the top (end opposite the threads and seal) of the filter, the series no. printed on there is F11R09E1. Is this ok to use on a 2005 2.0 turbo motor? TIA.

Since it sounds like you can't return them, go ahead and try one, but watch very closely for oil leaks.

I called a local dealer today and asked if they had any black 100's in stock and he told me he didn't have any and the part number is now 09A. I said fine but then I asked him what color it was because the filter on my LTD is black. His answer was what does the color matter? If you want I can paint it for you but it would be extra. He also told me that the 09A is black as well. I took a picture today of the oil filter on my car. I looks like the toyo roki everyone is talking about.

I think I will try out the mobil1 until I have some cash to get a 6 pack of the 100s. I am close to the 3k mark. any suggestions?

There are a number of discount Subaru parts dealers among the site's sponsors. I'm sure you can get a 6-pack of the 100s for around $40 (including crush washers) from one or more of them.

I bought 6x F11R14E2 (15208AA09A) from Jamie also. The previous 2 plus current leak. I might want to go to dealership and have it change.
