Unhappy '06 STI First Ticket Speeding 105/70 merging onto I-75 SB by Chrysler Bldg

Flamers refrain from reprimends, I just bought the car after driving an automatic Escort for 5 years so I was not aware of how fast I was actually going.

I was merging onto I-75 SB exit 79 ramp, the 5:30pm traffic was cruising at approx 75~85mph, I accelerated in the ramp to merge safely onto traffic and leave a cushion between me and the oncoming cars, then decelerated right away, trooper pulled me over right away as I was decelerating.

Ticket is 4pts and $160.00. I would gladly pay double or triple the fine but want to avoid points at all costs. I already pay a fortune on insurance and can not bear the thought of how much my premium will increase.

Can anyone refer me to an attorney familiar with the Rochester Disctric Court 52-3 practicing traffic violations? Urgent, I need to locate the attorney by tomorrow since the court needs to informed by Monday of my plea.

Get a lawyer, they are usually able to work some type of lesser charge, if not pay more and lose a point. But at those speeds (25 or so over) I doubt your gonna get much off.

35 over and the ticket is only $160 and 4 points? They are cheap in MI. In WI that'd be like $300 and 6 points...(12 to lose your license).

Oh and never start the post with "flamers refrain"...

yea after driving an escort Iím not surprised he has no idea how fast he's going. its hard to get a feel for speed when you go from pushing your car places to actually driving one..

I would agree with the lawyer... also need to check your local traffic laws to see if there are stipulations on speeds 20+ over. I know in some states they try to take your license if you are xx mph over the limit.

If you don't drive like an idiot all the time you shouldn't be worried about points.

So how much did he actually write the ticket for? 35 over and you'll get your license cut up in front of you.

p.s. for getting a ticket there.
