Default Speedo/Tach/tripo with out power

2004 forester XS
Battery was jumped this morning.

The speedometer, tach, trip and odemeters get no power. Everything esle seems to be OK.

Temp and Gas guages seem to be working. The gear selector lights (park/r/D), oil, airbag, etc... light up OK. All other function on the car seem to work OK(windows, radio, lights, blinkers)

Checked all underhood and in dash fuses, all seem fine.

Any ideas of what to look for?

Whatever happened to your car? I am having the same problem. My ABS light comes on, my tripometer and my speedometer stop working when I turn my headlights to the on position. My headlights do not work either. I am really curious to see what the deal is here.

Unhappy My Nightmare

It's not the battery. Here's the deal. I put a new head unit with amp connections in it last weekend and everything has been fine. I connected a second amp to the existing connections today and and everything was fine as well until tonight when I was driving my car. I noticed that the headlights were dim, my speedometer wasn't working and my tripometer was blanked out and my ABS light stayed on. My running lighst worked thee entire time and my instrument bezel lights worked the whole time. I got to where I could pull over and my check engine light came on. I had to drive it home so I did a little troubleshooting on the way back. When I turned my headlight switch back one notch to parking lights only, the speedometer started and tripometer started working. The ABS light went out. When I turned the lights back on everything went dead. My lights don't work in both low and high beam. I came home and disconnected the new amp and all of its wiring (power from the battery, remote from the headunit and ground and I still have the same problem. I can't figure this out. Someone please help!!!

I am a huge idiot!!! For future reference when you reinstall seat bolts, make sure that you don't pinch any wires under the mounts!!!
