Default time for new tires

well, ever since i lowered my car my stock rubber kept on rubbing the fenders......at first just my right fender was bent but now the other one is bent as well so i decided today that it's time....
so i got the kumho 712.....i've heard that it's a great tire for the price......
it's being mounted now and i'll probably post some feedback of the tires later
the size of the tire is now 205/50/16....i hope that they dont rub or srew up my fender anymore

If they rub before, they'll be sure to rub again with the new tires.. I think you need a wheel alignment. How low did you go?

how low?
let's just say too low
about the tires.......i've never changed tires before so i didnt know what to expect....but before all i've heard is good things....
initial thoughts:
1) no more rubbing!!!
2) car feels totally different
3) noticeable bumpier ride (but bearable)
4) grips the road much better
5) have to pay more attention cos even on small bumps the car will swerve a little
6) good in the rain

i haven't really actually tried the tires yet but i know for sure that it's much better than stock....i just love how it feels like a totally different car.....good thing it rained tonite, i got to try the car in wet & dry

Question

How about 205/45/16, will this rub the fender?

no doubt
712 is way better than RE92....hehe

but i love the SP5000 for slightly more if not even to T1S or SP9000 standards....since that's all season i can at least use in winter and personally i think is better than Toyo FZ4....

sorry no offence to somone who has the FZ4....hehe....

JP: i don't think that 205/45/16 will rub cos mine are 205/50/16 and they dont rub.... but if i turn fast on a sharp turn then they will rub a little....bascially if i turn my wheels fully, they is about 0.5 inch clearance

5-zigen: i wanted to get the T1S but was out of my budget.... and i've never had "performance" tires before so i wanted to try them out.....

i think he is taking about using some offset rims too....

JP: Lawrence (the previous SYMS TS owner) was using some incorrect 16" rims w/ 205/45R16 and he rubbed w/ KYB and H&R suspension....

yeah....T1S and SP9000 are pricy but i love them so far....what i don't like is they are no good on snow....and the performance of 712 so far just disappointed me? but for that price what can i complain? yet no one knows how it goes on snow....then u might have to consider another set of wheels so that's why i might just go for SP5000 for that case....hehe....

edit: yet they are good tires at a good price....

really want to compare 2 tires (712 and SP5000) on the same car or at least same mod, same settings...

nah...offset i was talking about is rims....he is looking up at one set of wheels which offset might not be good for Impreza so he wants to try using lower profile to prevent rubbing...
