Does it just get dim, fade out, or turn off altogether? When it comes back on, is it abrupt?

Default Clock goes on and off now mainly off.

The clock in my 02 WRX has lost the display. Fuse is okay. Any suggestions?

Holy! That started happening two weeks ago on my car!

It has never faded or blinks...Sometimes it's on, sometimes it's not.
I never notice when it turns on or off but it seems to be random (more off than on lately.)

I haven't investigated a thing yet, but surely someone has already fixed this problem and wants to share their knowledge with us...

Default Clock Removal

Anybody have specific instructions on how to pull the clock and dash housing?
My guess is that repair is by replacement.

Default Clock Interminent on me too.

Wow, this just happened to me for the first time this Monday. It also was in the morning, and cold (for california), and I hadn't driven it for 3 days and it rained somewhat while I didn't. 10 minutes later it came back on. All other electonics seemed to be working.

There have been reports of bad solder connections on the circuit board inside the clock. If you know how, pull the clock and take it apart, and repair any bad connections. If you don't know how, get someone who does to take a look at it, or check the classifieds for a used clock. They are often for sale reasonably cheap.

Maybe the following link will help in getting the clock panel off. You'll have to create an account with scoobymods, but it's totally worth it.

http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/sho...=&threadid=521

That thread is not totally oriented towards removing the clock panel, but it contains some good info. I would suggest pulling the fascia vent to get it out. It allows you to get at it from underneath rather than prying from the top, although a little bit of prying often is necessary.
