FS: 2004 Mazda 6s Hatchback, low miles, loaded, some mods
I've decided to say goodbye to my beloved 2004 Glacier Silver 6s Hatchback. I’m moving to Colorado sometime in the next few months (hopefully) and will need to reconfigure my finances a bit. Plus, I want to get something with AWD, probably a used Subaru or something.
I want to be clear off the bat… this car has been my pride and joy since I bought it in May of 2004. I love it. I always park it far away from other cars in public lots. I park it around the back of my apartment building right outside my bedroom window to keep a close eye on it. It has been in zero accidents or fender-benders. It has one small scratch on the driver's door that you probably won't see unless I point it out. I keep it immaculately clean (I used to be a detailer back in the day), so it gets frequent wash/wax jobs. I also maintain the interior with Meguiar’s leather cleaning products, don’t ever allow anyone to smoke in or anywhere near it, and rarely if ever have anything lying around the interior. “Is this car new? It smells like it.” I get that all the time. People are amazed when I tell them it’s a year and a half old.
Factory options include:
-V6 Manual Transmission
-17” Aluminum wheels
-Luxury package, black leather interior
-6-disc changer with Bose Amp/Subwoofer stereo upgrade
-Dual Airbags, Front and side airbags, along with rear side curtains
-All weather floormats and carpet floormats
-“Mazda 6” Windshield sunscreen, used religiously regardless of amount of sunlight
-35% tint on all windows sans front windshield
-RPM short throw shifter
-Injen cold air intake (still have original airbox)
-Magnaflow catback exhaust (still have original exhaust)
-3.5" Stubby Antenna (still have original)
-Mazda NA Clear tail lights (still have originals)
-Anzo clear side markers
-Debadged (I still have the “mazda” logo from the rear lying around somewhere)
-Removed door guards
-Mazdaspeed carbon fiber shift knob (still have original knob)
-Tanabe NF springs (still have stock springs)
-Removed warnings on the sun visors
-"B-quiet" sound deadening material added to front and rear passenger doors
-Custom black leather w/ silver stitch shift and e-brake boots (still have original)
I have maintained a very strict maintenance schedule (3 months or 3,000 miles, whichever comes first), and have kept all receipts of maintenance, recalls (I think there was 1 last year for the ecu), and will provide these upon request. I also recently cleaned the intake air filter with K&N’s recharging kit, swapped out the tranny fluid with Redline MTX fluid, and applied fuel injector cleaner. Aside from 1 car trip to New Jersey last year, it has mainly been a commuter car for me, and my drive to work is very short. I just hit 12,000 miles a couple weeks ago.
kbb.com lists the private party value, given its excellent condition, at $19,250. Edmunds’ private party TMV lists it at $18,700. I am willing to part with it for $18,000 flat. All OEM parts included along with the mods. I’d like to sell it as is but will discuss parting it out if necessary. As you can see, most of my mods are cosmetic. The car purrs beautifully with the exhaust and the intake adds a nice growl. Tanabe’s NF springs provide the lowest increase in spring rate while dropping a V6 in such a manner that the difference in wheel gap between the front and rear is eliminated. Ride quality is very smooth, and handling in the corners is improved over stock.
