Question Time for first oil change...

All,

My WRX just turned 2500 miles and I want to change the oil. Bought the car for over 4 months ago but as you can tell donít drive it much, since I work and live in the city. This will be the first oil change so need recommendations, pros and cons... on what type oil (I heard all sorts of stories), and a place to do it in SF or a short drive from the city.

Cheers,
Reza

wow, just your first huh. i too have had mine for about four months and i have racked up almost 10000 miles. anyways, i would recommend a genuine subaru oil filter and crush washer with mobil one oil. as for a place to do it, you might want to do it yourself and save some money, it is easy, especially on subarus. well, good luck and have, see you around.

Thumbs up

or just for fun, throw in some RedLine oil! I tried it once and it seemed to work better than the syth i had after that, prolly go back to it in about 1000 miles, but it is a bit pricey... like $7 per qrt. See ya!

Question Do you need a sealing/crush washer with the Fumoto Valve?

If I install a Fumoto valve, will I still need to replace the sealing/crush washer from the drain plug?

Or should I throw away the washer and just install the valve without it?

actually, the fumoto comes with a crush washr, but you never have to change it. I never put mine one, and have no place to change my oil, so if you want it, make an offer; I paid 28 plus shipping, and it's never been used.......
