Default check engine

Can anyone help me on this one? Just brought an imported impreza wrx, took the clocks out to clean the cover, put it all back in the dash drove the car about a mile down the road and a light came on that says Check Engine. Checked oil and water, both are fine so can anyone help me out with this???

September is bad gas season my friend. Fill it up with the mobil premium and reset the ECU.

Disconnect the neg bat terminal and step on the brake for about 15 seconds. Then reonnect the bat term and start her up. If the CEL comes back on just drive it for a few days with the new good gas and see if it resets... it should. If it doesn't take it to the dealer and have them pull the code... they'll probably charge you a diagnosis fee. If your lucky it'll just be a fowled plug. Otherwise make sure you put the clock back in correctly.
