Default Another successful Protune by Jorge and P&L - Thanks Guys!

That's right another awesome tune by Jorge and P&L, you guys rock! Below is my setup:

SBR 20g
Stomung catless downpipe with Stromung hi-flow 3rd cat pipe
MadDad Wisper 3" catback
MadDad velocity headers
Spearco tmic
K&N Typhoon
Nismo 720cc injectors
Walbro fuel pump

After Jorge worked some of his magic I ended up with 344 whp and 349 ft/lbs on 93. He was kind of concerned with the top mount heat soaking so he turned the boost down from 19 to 18 to see what happens and I lost about 20 whp. I guess this turbo likes 19 psi or higher, so he changed a few things and we were able to get the numbers listed above.

Let me say these numbers seem to be very underated because this thing is a torque monster. Let's just say this, I just got back from a long weekend event at Road America and I was slightly pulling on stock Z06's on the straight aways , however that was a different story for the modified ones . I was hitting about 150 mph on the main straight going into turn 1.

Granted it was a slightly cooler weekend, I must say the Spearco did quite well. After every session I would come into the pits and pop the hood and the intercooler was cool on the top and bottom. Be interesting to see what happens in the warmer months, I will be putting a heat wrap kit on the turbo to help with whatever heat soak I might get.

This turbo is very driveable around town, not very laggy. Just before 4000 rpm's it pins you in the seat, very fun to drive.

We'll see what she can do on race fuel.

Glad you're liking it Eric!

Figure I'd toss your plot out there.

Also, might wanna save up for a clutch. Most of my 20G customers are now needing them.

Yes, I might need a new clutch very soon. We'll see how long the stock clutch holds up. It still won't stop me from planting my right foot on the floor.

I never had an SR50 on my car. I actually bought one with low miles from someone here on the boards, but I was impressed with the power people were making with 20G's and considering how quickly they spool on the 2.5L it really got my attention. So I decided to go with the 20g. I do a lot of road racing so I wanted something with good midrange. The SR50 looks like a nice turbo and with the right tuner they seem to make good power, but the midrange is obviously not going to be as good as the 20g. We'll see what she does on race fuel this week.

What kind of numbers did you make on your SR50?

It was nothing personal, I was just kidding. I just thought it was funny that most of what's on NASIOC are the vs's question. I've done it plenty. See? HE HE HE?

12,800 miles on my sti...no abuse...no clutch drops..no dragracing.....20g+alchy=no more stock clutch

looks like I plugged all my intercooler/bov leaks....going to throw her on the dyno to make sure my afr's are still okay and if she picked up any more power...

Ahhh, I just noticed that this is on a STi. Now I get why you have so much more torque. Makes a little more sense now. Great numbers for not too many mods...

Finally had my 100oct tune the other night. Car made 386whp and 399 ft/lbs. Yeah, I know I wish Jorge could have gotten that extra ft/lb to make it 400. . I couldn't be happier though, well until I get a new header up-pipe gasket in. Jorge had the car on the dyno for about 2 hours and he was doing some fifth gear pulls at the end to see how well the Spearco did and the damn gasket blew out on one of the last few pulls. So I wasn't able to find out how the power feels on the way home. Too much power I guess .

Jorge, I like that little setup you had with box cutout so the air from the fans feeds down to the intercooler. I think Jorge had the dyno plot posted on another thread.

Sorry we got cut off on the phone the other night. I'll get you a replacement gasket for the uppipe. It's a 3 bolt so not that common. Nice numbers by the way. You'll have to send me a hi-res scan of the chart and some pics of the car so we can add it to the dyno registry and customer rides section of our soon to be released update to our website.(long overdue). Glad to see your project finally all come together.
