Default map sensor codes

on my 98 legacy I have installed a wrx turbo and front mounted intercooller.
I am looking for a way to get rid of the map sensor code, wich is set everytime the car goes into boost. Are there any aftermarket computer enhancements that can change the stock settings.

yeah you can get a voltage clamp. rallitek sold me an avo voltage clamp awhile ago and i dont need it. pm me and ill sell it to you for $20. i would double check that it will work on your car though. its an a.v.o. voltage clamp. let me know. it will clamp the voltage so that boost does not cause a CEL.

You bolted on a turbo to a MAP-based EJ25 and didn't know to use a voltage clamp? It's not just a CEL. Without a clamp, your ECU is going to cut fuel if it sees too much boost.

E-Manage has a voltage clamp built in.

As far as i know the 98 legacies are all MAF based- maybe it's throwing a different code?

nope - I can tell you for sure that my 99RS throws map sensor codes. There is a map sensor - and I have seen accurate reads up to 9psi on it through SSM logging of the ECU.

Weird- where is the map sensor? my 99RS does not have one. It had a barometric pressure sensor on the shock tower, but no map sensor.

my legacy has both a maf and a map. I am running 9.5psi. everything runs fine. I installed a sti fuel pump. I rigged the fuel so when I hit 4 psi the pump runs at 80 psi.
The check engine light comming on is what is driving me nuts.

Here's Proof. Manifold Reletive Pressure is the far right columb. This is off my 99RS with a ~11.0 AFR tune at ~5psi - keep in mind that the IDC on boost is alittle less than what you see due to the Emanage ultimate, and the timing is about -5 under boost. I was surprised to see how much timing my stock ecu runs.
