Vehicle:1999 Legacy 2.5 GT I want JDM WRX! |
Im buying an L impreza and swaping in an EJ20G. Ive been doing a bit of research but have been getting some conflicting information.
When I put in the new engine, I will need a scoop to get air to the intercooler (obviously). I was looking at some carbon fiber hoods, or some aluminum hoods. Another option I considered was getting a FMIC and turning the boost up on the TD05 to around 21 psi. I thought I could do this second option without a problem and it seemed like the better choice money/power ratio. Now Im having difficulties figuring out the fuel injectors... I thought the 450cc would be enough, then I heard that even 550 wouldnt be enough... Trying to get a "third party" opinion... any help?

What kinda EM you plan on using? and I belive 550s should be enough.

Using stock JDM wiring harness. no aftermarket is required (as far as I know).

the stock 425/440 (conflicting) is not enough to run 21 psi .. maybe 15ish
550 are fine i am using usdm STI injectors in a modified 1.8 rail but you will need some sort of EM to compensate for the bigger squirters (and less advance?) i am still at 15 on the stock crooked intercooler (w/ a tec2) |

and the stock boost sensor can only read up to 17psi. So you would need some sort of EM or a Fuel cut defenser w/ boost controller.
