Default Stoptech Brake Kits

I know that some of you guys or gals have the Stoptech brake kit on your WRX's. Just wanted to know any updates on how they are doing. I am looking into getting a kit and was wondering how they are holding up before I purchase a kit.

I would like to know some info on this kit also. $1500 for a big brake upgrade is reasonable and I want to know if this is a quality product or not. Anybody have experience with Stop-Tech?

Default stoptechs

the kit works great. i have the kit on my wrx and i can honestly say that braking feel has greatly improved as well as power. i'd say the only thing limiting me from experiencing even greater stopping power are my crummy kumho ecsta 712 tires. upgrading to pzeros some time soon. front to rear balance is good as well as modulation. i'm running the high perf axxis pads that they supplied in the kit.

i've already used the kit for two track events. one day at streets of willow and the other day at big willow. no problems. they simply work and work very very well.

oh, and all those RUMORS about floating rotors "rattling" are incorrect. i also ride bikes and none of my bike's floating rotors rattle, except for my full-race prepped ducati's brembo's FULL floating kit, which by the way, are supposed to. there is a difference between full-floating and floating rotors. the stoptech kit is a floating system and do NOT rattle.

other than that, i'd highly recommend the kit. you won't regret it. call mike at SPD. he has them in stock.

I honestly can't believe that there is only one person who has tried the StopTech Brake kit. I called Mike Shields and he said that he sold out, which only means that there are more of you out there with this kit.

They look really nice tom. Do you know if they would fit over the P7's?

And would they fit on a MY00 Legacy GT Wagon?

Thumbs up

I have now spoken to Mike at SPD and to Stop Tech
directly. I am convinced this is the brake set up I am going with. Now if I could just win the Powerball I am there.

Default stoptech & P7's

yes, as tom said, they will fit over P7's. i have P7's on my wrx and they fit perfectly (no spacer required on wrx). in fact, stoptech used my car with the P7's installed, to tool-up and do their braking tests. great bunch of guys and VERY knowledgable. get the kit as soon as mike gets them in... miles more braking capability over stock.
