I had that same problem. I fixed it by selling my stock CD for $150 shipped and then buying a Premier DEH-P670MP for $150 shipped and matched it up with the Forrester DIN pocket. I had some guys from MAIC installed it for me.

Your burned CD's will not read correctly with the stock unit.

i think i'll just sell it and put in my old jvc head unit. the cd is not scratched, it went straight from my laptop to the car. im going to try and switch the track order around and see if its consistant 4/5 that skips.

ok i just burned the same cd again, changed the order around, and put some gwen stefani in tracks 4, 5, and 6. the track that was 4 before is 1 now and works fine, track 4 works, and it skips through 5 and 6. so the only solution i can think of is put filler music in those 3 tracks haha.

Try slowing down your burning speed to like 4x or even less. And if that does not work you can try other kinds of media like if you are using Sony cds try using tdk. If rearranging the list helps it could be the software you are burning it with try using “Nero”
Hope this helps.

I don't think this is that unusual - the 6 disc changer in my previous car did the same thing when I burned discs with one program and was fine when I did it with another program. Both discs worked in my wife's car CD player.
