WIdeband for UTEC
Noob q: I was looking at getting a WB02 for my newly acquired UTEC and was wondering if I needed anything else other than the sensor. cables? tuner box? I would like it integrated into my logs (currently using MPSUtecLogger) and don't care for a stand alone display/gauge. as always, thanks all!

if you've got a utec it makes a lot of sense to go with a turboxs tuner or tuner pro wideband.

You're best off reading info on the MPS logger. It depends on your wideband setup. The LM-1 has a serial output, so you'll need two serial inputs on your laptop, then the MPS software threads the two logs together for you. Most likely this means you'll need at least one USB to Serial convertor cable.
The Innovate LM-1 basic kit is something like $350 and all you would need. It comes with the main box, serial cable, Bosch sensor, long sensor cable, power cord, etc. You can add the RPM convertor dongle for $429 total, but it is not needed. The LM-1 will record RPM, AF/lambda, and up to 4 other analog 0-5v inputs if you get the RPM convertor, with no need for a laptop. For a UTEC users this is probably unnecessary, as the UTEC will record almost everything you need in Logger #1. Unfortunately TXS's tuner is kinda expensive compared. But it integrates neatly into the UTEC. I already owned an LM-1 so I'm sticking with that. |

I'd just get the Tuna. They are $300-350 used and directly integrate with the UTEC. That's what I did.

thanks, i was kinda hoping there was a cheaper way than the tuna. oh well, gotta pay to play.. there goes my dp until next month
will the tuna log in MPS too w/out the need for another serial port? I hate the UTEC interface, ASCII and DOS commands blow. aswdijkl and such. this isn't 1983, GIMME BUTTONS! |

the LC-1 will also work with the MPS logger so my vote goes there, at $180 new and the performance of the LM-1, you can't beat that
