Default Effects of running w/out a BOV ??

Here's my situation:

I was planning a front mount install this weekend and have been waiting for a TXS bov to arrive. Unfortuanately I was just notified that my BOV will not be arriving as promised and I now have every piece, EXCEPT a bov to complete the install.

What could the potential hazards be, worst case scenario, of blocking off the intake return line AND blocking off the bov mounting flange?

A block of time like this to work on my car is hard to arrange with my schedule, hence my question, and my desire to continue with the install and not wait for the next opportunity, which could be months away.

thanks,

You will break every fin on the compressor wheel of your turbo. I'm not kidding.

Posted in SCIC but no luck so far, they pretty much segregated the classifieds so it's almost too inconvenient to go there...lol. I have another member who will ship me his next week. I'm almost tempted to go to South Coast Subaru and buy the TXS adapter, flip it reverse, by some heater hose(I have no aluminum no welding equipment ), and bolt on my GFB.

We'll see how anxious feel tomorrow...I have another TBE to install so perhaps that will suffice my modding urges for the weekend...doubt it

Gfb bov's come with something to block off the recirculating part of the bov and plug the recirc hose. It should work fine.

peace

The BOV is needed even if you don't push the motor. Mine pops open after letting off the throttle just traveling up a slight incline and running a vacuum.

I don't recommend running without a BOV at all.
