Default Burnt Out Bulbs in Fog & Cruise Switches

So the fog & cruise buttons have gone dark on my 02 WRX. The on/off light still works but the script is dark.
I've searched but only found posts for older models dash lights etc.
It looks like I can put a new bulb in there, there is a little plug on the side of the switch where the bulb should be.
Has anyone done this? Is it a part I can grab from Subaru? Could I get a blue bulb for the I/C water spray button I'm installing?

Thanks for your help,
Pete

Don't know if other model years are the same, so obviously...use at your own risk.....

Radio Shack "Micro Lamp" #7219. The other number on the package is 272-1092. It's $1.49 per package of 2 bulbs. They are shorter in length than the stock OEM bulbs, but fit right in, and provide the same amount of light. I've been using the first ones I put in for over a year with no problems (same specs as stock AFAIK).

They are speced at: 12 volt, 60ma, wire-terminal base

How do you get the switches out of the dash? Just pry them out with a screwdriver or something? I have new bulb covers to change the colors of the buttons but I don't know how to get them out and I don't want to hurt anything trying to do it the wrong way.

Just take all the screws out and pull it towards you. Disconnect the wires going to them and pop them out from the back.

By "it" you mean the dash, right? Do you happen to know if the buttons themselves are green, or do the bulbs have green covers on them? n00bSearch has led me to several different threads that seem to contradict eachother...

Yes I was referring to the plastic piece under the steering wheel that has the switches. IIRC, The lamps have covers, but they also have green film on the back of the symbol (fog/cruise/etc).

Anyone has photos on how to remove the cruise control switch and the light bulb inside? Mine was burnt like 2 days ago and what even worse is.... my car has 36300 miles!! Right passed the warranty period! ****!! In fact, I left a msg to my local dealer and see if it is still covered under warranty (I guessed not).

:'(

The labels do have a green film on the back of time. I popped them off and sanded the film off and threw some red bulb condoms on. The switch is really easy to remove. All you have to do it just pull the dash piece off, under the steering wheel, then unplug the wire harness from the back of the switches, and push the switches out. For the bulbs, if you have a small screw driver, the bulb is like screwed in there, so give it a turn and then flip the switch over and knock the bulb out.
