Default OEM WRX EGT with Tuner Pro?

I have a nice aftermarket K type, new in the box but I have a bung already in my GPmoto up-pipe that is threaded for a stock WRX EGT. And the hardware with the aftermarket k-type doesn't fit.

Anyone know if the OEM unit is a k-type (I'm sure it is) and has anyone tried it with the Tuner Pro? I'm fine with building an op-amp to bump the voltage up if needed. And I've finally figured out where to get the plugs that fit the tuner.

My in dash autometer EGT is about useless to me. I can never remember what it read at what point, and its probe is in the top of the DP which is too far away to be of much use anyway. I could stop being lazy and get one of my bungs welded in.

Oh... And anyone know how much the stock unit costs give or take?

You should be figuring out where you'll install your aftermarket sensor. The OEM EGT sensor operates on a completely different principle. It's a resistive temperature detector (RTD). Its resistance decreases as temperature increases.

Ah, a thermistor. Probably doesn't have much range then.

Nevermind then. Thanks Jon.

egt probes should be intalled 3-5 inches from the exhaust ports. usually on cylinder 3 or 4.
