Unhappy Hey guys, Roger totalled his WRX and is in the hospital..

See this post. I just spoke with him, and he is doing well.

I think it would be nice if we tried to keep in touch withhim.

Spoke with Roger and he's in pretty good spirits. Seems the WRX can take a hell of a beating and still protect it's occupants reasonably well. Geez, what a mess though.

Hang in there man.

Post Got through to him...

I just finished talking to him.
He sounds like he's been beaten around a bit - but not too bad.
They were going to remove his spleen, but decided to repair it. He injured some other internals like liver, etc. But is up and walking today.
When it was wet out early Tuesday morning, car slid - hit gardrail - flipped onto roof. Driver side door took the brunt of the hit - everyone was able to get out of the car before help arrived. Side air bags went off, etc... I think he said he had 3 other people in the car - they were all right, and didn't need to stay in the hospital.

He went into surgery later that morning, and has been in the hospital since.

Roger told me he has pictures - but I told him to be more focused on getting out of the hospital.

He perked up when I read the number of get well posts there were...
Thanks guys,
Get well Roger,
- Kris

Spoke with Roger earlier tonight.

He said he looked down to check who had rang his cell phone, when his car started sliding in the rain. He counter-steered and used the famous Tim O'Neil left-foot braking manoever to control the skid. But the RE-92's didn't respond and the car hit a guardrail, rolling over once.

He's sure the car is totaled. One of the first things he said to me (after confirming that he's doing good) was how he thinks I can use his 3.90 LSD, how Pat Olsen may be interested in other parts of his WRX drivetrain, and that he's going to track it down so we can get first dibs. He's still in the hospital, but is already thinking about who may benefit from parting out his car! I told him it was a hell of a way to get me a matching LSD.

Hope he gets well quickly!

Yeah, he was pretty funny when I spoke with him on the phone too Wayne. I was wondering if it was the morphine or not, but I think he is all fine up top (morphine or no morphine), and would just like to see people benifit from his unforunate incident. Pretty nice if you ask me. He kept saying he took one for Team RE-92.

I going to try and call him again when I return to Boston after the weekend. Hopefully he will be out of the hospital soon and back on the board so he can at least read/type to pass the time.

You scoobies are nuts...lol. No matter what the situation, yer digitals are 90-to-nothing w/the pictures I guess this shows how much of a trooper he is: taking pics of his accident b/4 worring about himself.

Good luck w/the speedy recovery!
