Not knowing anything more about your mods, I'm guessing here. You can only make 13.8 and expect more, right? 6 turns sound like alot to me. I don't remember the exact number, but I thought about 3 turns from bottoming out was a good starting point. Are you thinking more turns should be more boost?
I look at the ABC as an adjustable leak. Leak more vacuum to atmosphere (by turning the screw out more), and you get less action on the solenoid. |

Or get a GM solenoid, does the same thing, less than half the price.
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=870619 You'll have to completely retune your boost map, but it will absolutely block pressure from reaching the wastegate when energized. If you can't build boost with a blocking solenoid configuration, you've got a problem elsewhere. Anyway, 13.8psi is about stock level. You shouldn't need the ABC at all to do that I would hope. Try one thing. Change nothing else, but tighten your ABC back down all the way. Does your boost go down? I'd just make sure the ABC is doing anything at all. |

What rpm are you reading the boost at? What's the boost control set to in parameters(open or closed loop boost)?

Isn't 2 turns out the de-facto standard starting point? I'd check the values in the UTEC boost map...

yes it is a stock turbo...my values are the stage 3 map for the utec...i thought it would hit 16.5 psi with fewer turns that 6...IM NOT TRYING TO MAKE INFINITE BOOST ON MY SETUP...just concerned that the abc isnt working correctly..

Have you tried to turn the set screw in some more to make higher boost? If its not changing things much you might have to up the values in your boost map.

Have you set up the gradient and intercept values in the paramemters according to the manual? You might be recording a bogus value.
I think that's the first time I've ever typed, or even used the word "bogus." Huh. Bogus. I like that. And not being familiar with the values in the "stage 3 map"... aren't they still supposed to be tuned to your setup. They aren't a page full of 500s are they? |
