Default manual boost controller question

i just installed a manual boost controller in my 05 sti. I believe i have the correct hoses going into the controller. I also am using all new hoses, none of the stock hoses are being used. The problem is i can't change the boost. I turn the nob clockwise and it does nothing. Since the new boost controller i am only boosting at .5 bar on my stock boost gauge. I was told if u remove the one vac. hose from the incar controller it would cause the car to overboost. I tried this and my car would still not overboost...anyone have any ideas or know anything about this problem of not being able to increase psi.

If boost levels are unchanged, you must not be affecting how much pressure is reaching the wastegate actuator.
Take a look at the wastegate actuator and tell us where the hose goes that is connected to it.
Is it a bleeder style or ball and spring style controller?

BTW I don't know anything about STi's, but you would definitely not want to run a manual boost controller to replace the OEM boost control on a WRX. Even more so an a 2004 or 2005 model. You may want to search around to see if this is safe on an STi (assuming you have not already done so).

Do you still have the OEM boost solenoid in place and hooked up? If so you need to bypass itThus the name Manual boost control, remember to leave the electrical connection on the boost solenoid hooked up so you don't get a (cel)

try reversing the lines to the boost controler and make sure to cap off the solenoid so dust and debris dont get inside the unit and ruin it.

If you take the tube off the turbo or actuator, you should be hitting more boost. Sounds like your wastegate might be stuck open?

Default boost controller failure

i bought it off e-bay, just look under the manual boost controller and it was the 50 dollar one, so i guess the quote what u pay for is what u get, b/c i couldn't get it to work, so i just purchased a electronic greddy controller, i can't wait for it to get in
