Question Accessport and UTEC...

I have a question for everyone... Is it possible to run a Cobb Stage 2 reflash (base map) with a UTEC??? The thought came to me as I was about to fall asleep a couple of nights ago... What would the Pros and Cons be? Would it even work? I figured if you can run an ECUtek reflash and UTEC together I thought, "Why should it be any different with the Accessport?" Any info would be appreciated...

it cannot be done. I'm a software engine and i can say that the aceessport is a highly regulated sspfc and will run independently on your vehicle. It's very difficult to explain and would take a lot of time to put in lay man terms. I can say this though, The AP is a brillant piece of equipment and produces a impressive gain with a even more impressive engine safety anaylisis. The sspfc is one of the most adaptive and functional softwares used for applications with a high stress for extremly minimal error. Basically, the AP is the way to go and works independently. I hope this helps a little, sorry if its confusing.

It's possible but not much point, as you can switch maps using the Accessport too (8 I think). UTEC and EcuTek more usefull partnership as you can use the UTEC to switch to multiple aggressive map settings etc

There are alot of reasons to use a flash and the Utec together. Each solution has limitations. For example. The Utec cannot control the Cam timing on STI cars. The ECutek flash can. You can offset the injectors if larger injectors are fitted with the flash and tune the flash to a very safe pump gas tune. Then use the utec for an agressive Pump and or race fuel tune. THe utec does have a great knock detection/correction system as well as many other features such as launch control, water injection control, nitrous control, ect...

Hey Clark!

I am one of the guys getting tuned this weekend (Sunday and Monday) in Vegas... So do you think it would be a good idea to use the Cobb Stage 2 as a base with a UTEC piggy-backed also? Would it be difficult to tune? I am looking to gain some performance when needed but retain the safety of the Cobb maps for day to day driving. Let me know what you think I should do.
