Default Alcohol Injection + Cobb Accessport ?'s

I have the SMC alchy kit and just bought the AP. Up here in Anchorage, Alaska we only get 90 octane... I want to run the 93 octane map but I don't know if the alchy will work well with the AP. Is anybody running the AP with the SMC alchy kit? Any and all help/input is greatly appreciated. -Gene

oops, I hope this thread is in the right place...

The AP base maps were not tuned for your SMC alchy kit
But with a protune I think it could work.
Call cobb and see what they say.
Or search?

You DEFINITLY need a protune to run 90 oct and alcohol injection.

^ Werd. You will not be able to run any basemap with alky injection unless that base map was designed for alky injection. Alcohol is not an octane booster. Well it is but not by design. You will need some sort of custom tune to run alky injection on your car regardless of EM.

Wait, so it's not safe for me to run the 93 map from cobb if I have 90 octane+alchy?? I thought the alchy injection was supposed to raise the octane quite a bit... Why wouldn't it be safe with the AP?? Thanks. -Gene

I think I'd pose this question in the Alaska regional forum at http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=72 if I were you. There are quite a few people up there using alcohol injection with the standard 90 octane pump gas.
