Default ej20TT swap question

Ok i know there are a few post on this issue saying to stay away from the ej20TT for LHD cars, how ever i'm thinking of building an engine to swap into a free 92 legacy loyal. I got the car just for learning purposes, tear it down to learn as much as i can about cars, like the pumbing, electrical, as much as possible.

Back to my question I want to take a ej20tt take the left turbo off and change the exhaust manifolds, would it work? also the engine i'm planning on getting has a cut wiring harness, what would be the easiest way to get one.

my plans for the car are to keep only the block, heads, and turbo stock, i want around 325 awhp, with a complete suspension, drivetrain ,brakes

stock turbo won't get you 325awhp.. I've seen guys getting around 300 on a td04 (usdm wrx) but thats stressing the hell out of that poor thing.

I'd say you'd be getting into a nightmare if you try the twin turbo option and then trying to make it single turbo and doing whatever else. Especially if you are only getting a cut harness.. eeeek.

You can usually get JDM EJ20G motors that were pulled from old legacy's cheaper than the twin turbo motors (and they already have a single turbo). There is even a full legacy front clip on ebay for $1650 here.

if you get a TT version and take off the headers, i want them. i've been looking for a set for a while now. so even if you can tell me where you found them it would be appreciated.

Ok I have a question for a impreza conversion. Can a EJ20TT long block be converted to work with a single turbo. Essentially when you strip it down is the shortblock the same as a EJ20T? Is there any fitment issues with the power steering pump ... could my power steering pump just bolt onto the block?

Well, I hope so cause supermoose just sold me one and says he has one in his car and he converted everything no problem. From what I understand for the research I have done the motor is an Ej20H It has 9:1 cr. It also has same valves and head ports as STi-RA, and 264 cams. valvetrain is mechanincal shim UNDER bucket - good to 8K no problem. Hopefully he will chime in and give some more information.

ej20H longblock with EJ20G all accessories, brackets - check. ive done it
ej18 sohc with EJ20 sti-ra timing belt tensioner, waterpump, pulleys, sprokets - check. ive done it

EJ207 with EJ25 ac compressior for 99 usa RS - check. ive done it

etc etc etc.

how good is the EJ20H 9:1 longblock you ask?

stock EJ20G turbo setup conversion with Stock EJ20G ecu. 4:1 grupp-s headers, and ebay turbo back exhaust. walked a 996 twin turbo sunday afternoon. stock boost at 1 bar.
