Default Another Tribeca Purchased

We are now the proud owners of a brand new 06 Tribeca Limited 5 passenger with navi in Titanium Silver Metallic. We also had the puddle lights, all weather mats, front and rear bumper protectors, aero bars, autodimming mirror + compass, wheel locks, and splash guards free of charge.

We initally were looking at the highlander hybrid as our main choice. It was definatly a nice car for what its worth but the hybrid system in it is pretty much pointless. The engine is too big and it seems to be more of a peformance hybird not gas saver (what we were looking for). We then tried out the highlander gas version. The gas engine was nice and peppy and pretty nice interior. After getting the monthly payment for it, we declined immediatly. We had a lexus RX300 and the payment for that was the same as the highlander. Personally we would rather ride in a lexus then a toyota even though yes they are the same manufactor. We then tried out the new RX330. Nice car definatly, lots of fun options to play with. It definatly looks alot nice and the engine and tranny are SO much better then our 300. The problem was that the payments were a little much. In the end we wanted to down the payments if possible.

Then we test drove the subaru tribeca for a couple of hours and were instantly sold! Great ride with the luxery of a lower class lexus...a lot better then the toyota. Has alot of nice options that none of the other cars could match. 9 speaker stereo with a "sub," 18 x 8 wheels (they are HUDGE), personally a wonderful sleek looking radical suv, crisp steering wheel control, the dash and center console are a complete joy to look at, heated seats that stay hot (some of you know what I mean by that...some heated seats get hot for 5min then die for 20min), rear seats reclined a LOT more then our RX300 did, the red accented lighting on the center console at night is just a complete treat to be in, mp3 6 disc in dash CD player, windshield wiper deicers + side mirror deicers, the subaru AWD system with many advanced saftey features. Ontop of all of those, the tribeca just recieved quadruple 5 star crash test ratings making this a VERY safe vechile. I have no worries about injury in it.

The only down sides that I can come up with is the review mirror is kinda zoomed so objects seem a LOT closer then they are and it does use premium gas (the engine is very peppy so I can understand it). Some people say the tranny is bad in its shifting which it sometimes seems to be "searching" for a gear, I just use the manuel mode and down / upshift for it...its more fun anyway =)

I brought it over to a friend of mines house. Both his wife and him said it was a beautiful car, first thing. They also couldn't get over all the features, comfort, and the price! My friend couldn't stop commenting on how wide the tires and how big the wheels were! Can't not love those 18's

Its the perfect car, we are (obviously) very pleased with our purchase. We recommend anyone who wants a relativly cheaper SUV that has luxery features of a 45k car for 10k less plus alot more with the added saftey of subaru AWD and SRS systems. The only thing we are adding to it now is a set of silverstar headlight bulbs, and some PIAA ion crystal fog light bulbs and we should be set.

Test drive it, you'll love it!

Also does anyone have a list of the light bulb numbers for the brake lights, running lights, etc. I read the manuel and it only lists a couple. Sylvania doesn't have the b9 listed yet eithor. Thanks

In the past I always use the bulb numbers listed in the manual to purchase new ones. Those numbers usually work with many OEM brands.

You have three years or 36k miles to figure it out Enjoy the car.

yeah I checked the manuel specifically for the brake lights (they list almost everything else) but instead of a bulb number it just gives me the wattage 21w/4w I believe it was.

If you need to replace it outside of warranty, just unscrew the bulb and take it to your local auto parts store. I see there are couple of bulbs in bulb chart do not have number listed.
