No, it wont damage the motor. Just do your best to stay out of boost.

Goto autozone and buy a can of NOS race oct booster. Then you shouldn't have to worry bout it so much.

Are you joking? If you do the math, octane boosters generally only raise the octane less than 1 point (so, if he put 89 in, he is still less than 90).

If I were you i'd just cruise with no boost. If you can't do that for a whole tank, then blend in some toulene or race gas. Either way, I wouldn't put my foot in it until all that gas was out of there.

Don't be silly. The NOS Race Stuff makes 87 octane fuel perform like C16... cuz it's NAWWWSSS!!!111!

In SCC's test they conculded that it was more $ efficent to use NOS racing oct booster than toulene. It raised it more than .1 in their tests.

Edit : I wanted to make sure I was correct so I search'd and found this.

Just add a couple gallons of race fuel. Even if it's leaded, one time won't hurt!

Interesting. I hadn't seen this study, but for other boosters, it was definately less than 1 point (like .2 or so).

Put a couple gallons of 100oct in your tank and all will be good. Toulene is a waste of money at $10 per gallon. Not to mention it doesn't do ****!

But dayum, that adds over $.60/gal to your fuel costs. I assume you mean if 93 isn't available in your area. I've tried the 93 with the Cobb 93 octane map, makes a difference, but it's only available at Sinclair, it's only a few cents more, but can make keeping the tank full a bit more complicated. Have to switch back to the 91 octane map for road trips...then run almost empty on the 91, fill up with 93, burn some off, refuel with 93, switch maps again. It makes the car run a little better, but it's a PITA.

btw, here's the linky-link to some results http://europeancarweb.com/tech/0503e...ost_chart2.jpg
