Just picked up 1lb of your Torro blend. I usually purchase green from Coffee Bean Corral but I am always open to trying different beans.

Wirelessly posted (my name is inigo montoya. : Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 1.6; en-us; T-Mobile G1 Build/DRC83) AppleWebKit/528.5+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.2 Mobile Safari/525.20.1)

You want green, or roasted?

Roasted works as it should be close to optimal by the time it reaches NJ. Do you recommend a finer grind for the Torro blend? I will drink an espresso daily whereas 2 of my other employees prefer lattes.

The grinder I have is http://www.coffeegeek.com/reviews/grinders/lacimbalijr

It'll arrive just in time to brew, well-rested at day 2-3. Nice grinder. You'll have to tweak the grind, it varies by age (finer as it ages), and even ambient conditions, if you're anal. The Golden Rule: 2oz of espresso in 25sec. The Torro, in my machine, needs about 23sec for 2oz when ground right. YMMV.

Nate,

What's the special today? I'm running low on Kona, I'm thinking I'd like something dark and big. Preferably not a dude.

Got an Aeropress for Christmas, it is a nice way to make milk drinks, no more need to hit the local coffee shop on the way in to town for a latte.

One day the expresso machine will get added.

So I got my Breville Cafe Roma working with a non-pressurized filter from a La Pavoni and a heavy 51mm tamper. It comes with a double wall filter so you can get pressure without a proper grind and tamp.

Poison was not kidding about the grinder requirements for espresso. I had my Maestro turned to 1 and even reset the internal calibration to try and get finer grind. I could only get a 12 sec extraction for a 2oz shot, that required way more tamping force than should be used.

Short of buying a $250 grinder, I can't see how I can get a good espresso shot out of this machine. I think it's going back to the store until I can afford a Gaggia and a Le'Lit or Ascaso grinder.

I have some cool pics of my coffee in action, taken by a friend with a DSLR. She made a disc on her Mac, so when I can get a sec on my wifes mac, I'll post up.

Espresso, think we can get a filter in place that will auto replace expresso with 'dumbass'.

Btw poison, that extra sample you sent is excellent, my wife said that it tastes like there is already mocha flavoring in the brew. It is wonderful to start out the day.

I think we should just replyto every "expresso" with "should have bought an SRT-4."
