surging powerband
I just did an install (VF39, modded stockers, walbro) and loaded the txs stage 4 utec map and set the injector adjustment from 420 to 800, the ecu couldn't get the idle for **** and it was running lean, so I readjusted them down to 740 and the car idles decently and the ecu hunts for 14.7 fairly well.
so I go and drive and the powerband is seriously seriously surgy under boost, like off and on, I logged it for a bit but timing doesnt appear to be pulled and no knock or anything, waiting for my wideband to get here but wanting to smoothen it out if I can cause it will be a week before I get the wb to fine tune

Sounds like your MAF transfer function might be wonky. Im pretty sure it sounds like fueling, not timing.

Clean the maf and make sure the recirculating valve isn't set too lose. The only time I ran into that was with aftermarket EBCs with too many settings. Took some time to smooth them out.
For that matter, does your boost map transition smoothly across the load/rpm points? The UTEC seems to "reach out" values up and over the map if it thinks the rpm/load might be headed that way. I've found more even numbers from the 90 to 100 columns in any given row produce smoother results. But I use the 100 column as a safety buffer. Post up a log so we (and by 'we' I mean the gurus... not me...) can at least see the IDCs and all that. |

I have a profecb on it right now as I lost my restrictor pill for the stock solenoid controlling boost so the boost maps are factory turbo xs stage 4 but the utec is not in control of boost, how do I post up the logs on here

Based on those IDCs and your injector size I'd say you are running pretty rich. Try increasing the injector size in the UTEC.
I don't advocate going WOT without fueling verification (ie, wideband) but if you insist, I'd give the above a shot. And just for comparison - on chopped stockers running 18 psi at 6500 rpm with a VF22 I'm running 65% IDC. You are running a higher IDC on 3-4 lower PSI at the same RPM I am. My AFRs are around 10.8 at those points so you are likely in the 9s. |

well as soon as the wideband gets here I will verify what your telling me, but since the car will actually idle decently and everything, can I leave the injector size the same and tune the map to pull the fuel but I wouldn't be suprised if it was that rich

got my wideband in and installed (hope it was installed right lol) and turned my injectors scaling to 800 from 740, car was hunting for idle afr again but the severe studdering was lessened to some extent. then I saw the afrs 9.1 to 9.5 throughout the rpm range. hold richness batman. I started pulling fuel out in the higher load sites and got it around 10.0 before my laptop battery ran out. Is it normal to have to pull so much fuel out, it seems like alot. anyways here is the logs
