Another knock thread
No I dont have logs.
BUT...this confuses me. I spent about 2 hours on the dyno with my RX getting a good safe map into it...AFR's are good, around 11:1...and timing is very conservative. Only running 7psi...the stock wastegate presure. I was getting good power over stock....but with some knock here and there...so I went to those areas...pulled timing...then it was there...and here...repeat. Spent an hour doing so. Finally, no knock on repeated pulls on the dyno. yay! But, no more power than when I started...bah, its 2am, time to go home. Save...make sure ECU has it...done. Next morning...KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK like someone was at the door. WTH?!?!?!??! The ambiant temps didnt change much from 2am to 9am...maybe it was ~5 deg warmer in the morning when I went back to work. what gives? Mod list for 1987 SUBARU RX, stock engine and internals: MegaSquirt Version 2 TWE Header/Donwpipe w/catless 2.5" exhaust 'cold air intake' Air-Water Intercooler 2 step colder NGK plugs Stock boost on stock turbo(7psi from 2400 to redline, 6500) thats it. Pretty basic 'bolt ons' for this car. any ideas?

Perhaps your making more load on the street than you were on the dyno and you are operating in a different load range?

a possibility...but, the 3rd gear pull on the street is shorter than the pull on the dyno...?

Proof that you are making more boost and power on the street. Try tuning in fourth or fifth to build more load at lower RPM...

well, ive noticed that on any car we've put on the dyno....unless we do the pull in 4th/5th (on a 5spd car)

humidity plays a big role too.
what kind of sensor inputs are you using for your MS maps? ie maf/map/iat etc? speed density or maf based? |

MAP built into the MS, speed density.
