Default Factory Bose speakers, aftermarket cd player. no sound?

i have factory bose speakers for my 1995 maxima and the factory cd player ceased to work, so i purchased and installed an aftermaket cd player (sony explod). i'm 100% all the wires are connected. i get power and the cd player functions like it's supposed to, but nothing comes out of my bose speakers.

any inputs? in dire help tonight.

Did the radio still work when the original HU cd player went out? Lots of those BOSE factory jobs have individual amplifiers to run each speaker and sometimes they're not heat-protecte well enough and the amps go bad. The problem could be further down the line than the HU itself...

Is the amp on on the head unit? Some head units will not have their internal amp on when you get them because the signal is sent to the rca outputs.

do you have the amp turn on wire hooked up? are you sure that it was the factory cd player that went bad? it could have been the factory amp/s

95 maximas dont have an amp turn on wire.... you cant power up the bose system like you can in a dodge with infinity... you need to rewire the bose system... meaning jump the wires at the factory amp/amps. i dont remember if it is amp on speaker or one central amp.. but if it is one central amp, you need to jump the wires from the stock HU to the outputs on the factory amp... its not that hard. you need a tone generator (or a 9V battery) and wiring colors would help.. If it is amp on speaker, then just jump the two smaller wires over from the input on the amp to the speaker. There are usually 4 wires... 2 for power/ground and 2 more signal (spkr+ and spkr-)... hope this helps

You need to purchase a Nissan bose adapter or install new speakers,,,,,,,bypassing the factory amps.

correct. each speaker in that car is self amplified. the speaker wire leads coming from the back of the radio do go to each speaker. like he explained above, you will need to jump them from before the amp and then go directly to the speaker.

in the end though you might as well replace the speakers while you are at it. the bose speakers usually don't sound too good with aftermarket amplification. the rear speakers are easy because you can get to the wires from inside the trunk, but the front doors, you need to take the door panel off. if you are going through that work, change the speakers.

i feel retarded. i said in my first post that i was 100% sure all the wires were connected.

well....

i connected all the wires that i thought were neccessary. meaning that i did not hook up the wires for the AMP because i didn't know i even had an amp. i thought you had an amp only if you had a subwoofer. out of frustration, i hooked up the wires for the AMP anyway and VWALA~!!!

thank you all for all the effort and i apologize for my stupidity.

Default No sound rear speakers

I have a 1995 maxima with Bose system bought aftermarket wiring harness and hooked everything up. Deck turns on and radio plays out front speakers only not the rear.(The rear speakers are on it's own plug along with amp turn on and ground so I grounded the ground wire to the chassis and hooked up the amp turn on to the amp turn on from the aftermarket deck.) any ideas?

Well only the rear speakers are amplified, if your blue/white wire is connected up on the back of the radio to the aftermarket harness then the amp is turning on. I believe the correct harness is 70-7550. The amp will not accept high level input. So you need an amp integration kit. I usually use the ISVE61. It converts high level signal to low level signal (which the amp will accept).

Ok now I can change my rear outputs between rear speakers which would be high output and subwoofer which would be a low output would it not? And the back speakers worked fine when the original deck was hooked up only switched the original out due to infamous screen failure.

That will change the rcas on the back of the radio that you are not using. If you dont want to spend the money in the isve61 take an rca cut it in half and there will be 2 wires in it. Dont let them touch. Connect it to one positive and one negative then plug it into rear preout. Then do the same for the other side.

Plug the rear preouts green and purple into the front just to check for sound.

Did that still no sound from rear. plugged grey and white in rear rcas still had sound so the outputs from my deck are all good. Can plug in factory stereo rear speakers work fine. apparently each speaker has its own amp so the turn on must be hooked up cause the fronts work I guess the only option now is to direct wire the speakers to the deck and by-pass the factory amp

On your harness do you have both a blue and a blue/white? If you have both tie them both in together. Blue is power antenna so I doubt it will work but its worth a try. When I install a radio at work I always tie the blue and the blue/whites together

I do have a power antenna so that wire is used I will try to maybe splice the amp turn on from the harness to the decks power antenna. But I have front sound so I am lead to believe that amp turn on works cause the fronts are amplified as well and those seem to be turning on fine
