Default 05 STi tuned at TurboTrix Racing

I went to TurboTrix in New Jersey on Saturday for a dyno tune on my 2005 STi. The only mods I have on the car are UTEC and StealBack with the stock axle back. 286 awhp / 320 awtq. I'm happy. Here's the dyno sheet.

I'm welcoming any comments or advice.

The VF39 is probally maxed out at high rpm's so there is no room for improvement.

that, and the axle back is a hp killer. i think there would be much more top end with something a little more free flowing.

Yea but then why is the baseline a better curve from 5500 on?

unfortunately the graph is in MPH so that may be why it looks a little decieving. not sure why they didnt run it in RPM.

thats a lot of tq for just a dp, midpipe, stock catback. i wonder what those numbers would have looked like corrected and smoothed im sure it rips but seems a lil high for the mods.

Better how? It looks to me like the baseline makes less power all the way to redline. The advantage decreases as mph/ rpms build, but that was addressed in earlier post about the restrictive exhaust and turbo that goes flat up top..

the question is why at like 73 mph does the car make about 50 less hp than stock?

The blue lines are the baseline HP/Trq...and the red lines are the 'modified' HP/Trq.

blue is before. red is after. towards the top end the power increase isnt huge, but that is because i'm still rockin' the stock axle back and we're working with a vf39 here. i'm a little upset. last night i did a few pulls and i knocked hard in 3rd gear. i'm hoping is was a bad spot of gas, not the tune. i'm pulling logs this week and we'll see how it goes. edit: also, i noticed in 5th and 6th gear at WOT i'm boosting like 1.5 bar.. thats 21-22 psi! no knock yet in the high gears, but i'm really looking for these logs so i can see what the hell is going on with my 'tune'.

Right... sorry the MPH really confused me as I thought the 2 reds were crossing at 5250 . Nevermind.

oh really? The only person on nasioc (me) to have dyno tested a stealback with sti axleback and a stealback with NO axle back showed that the HP/TQ differences were within 1hp proving that at this power level this "hp killer" is a figment of your imagination. Don't post out your arse.

or you could post without being so malicious, but hey instead of correcting a mistake lets bash peope for not knowing. sorry, i'll check with you from now on.

286 seems low. usually hp for those mods with an axle back is around 300 at the wheels. the axle back being the only difference in these examples, i could only assume that this was the problem. but thanks for flying off the handle.

and the problem is... not bad gas, not the axle back, not the car... starts with a t and ends with a une.

^^^ haha! isnt that the truth. i didnt want to come out and openly bash tt, thanks for being the first! only thing tt is known for is; inflated dyno#'s and evos.

i feel a lot worse for that guy who bought one of their 'race engines.' that poor guy is in for a real bumpy ride!

yea i was afraid of a bad tune. they'll be hearing from me today. and if i dont hear what i want they'll be sure to read about it all over every internet forum there is.

what really pissed me off is that once the car was done i asked to take it for a rip. the tuner (i think his name was mark) said, 'well.. i just tuned it' and rolled his eyes. i'm glad a paid for an overboosting, knock filled tune.
