Default 95 Legacy, total mods: 7, Total cost: $22.90, including DIY Home Depot Lip

i went all prefessional on my Si, so i figured I'd take this one down a few notches. I havent decided yet if i'm going to keep the car for very long, so i'm trying to spend as little money as possible.
there's more to come too. check back in.

all the exterior stuff

front lip ($16.41 at Home Depot, or HD racing)

blacked out tails (free, had tint lying around)

cone filter (free, scavenged from old impreza)

black headlight/polish/de-yellow reflecter mod ($6.49 for plexis)

black door cards (for now anyway) (free, just removed cloth)

I love the tails. I wanna do that to my Legacy since its blacked. I dont want to ruin visibility though. Is it a LOT darker?

it is pretty dark during the day, stop lights come through fine, blinkers are borderline, but half the people out there dont even use blinkers.
at night they're unnoticable.

i think jdm projectors are out of my price range for now, if i decide to keep the car i might retrofit some HIDS in there.

What's the lip---garden edging? Held in place with L-brackets & rivets?

Looks like a Contour SVT from the front now. Props for doing it cheap, but if you can afford more, please spoil your car a little.

yeah i searched on here and on honda tech (where i originally saw home depot lips) and found yours. as you can tell the two things i decided to change were the screws though the lip (used a wider surface for mounting and double sided tape) and the height of the lip (i cut the material to about 2/3 its original height).

I have bottomed out my DIY lip a few times, it just flexes and absorbs the impacts. Of course it gets scratched on the bottom, but I can sleep at night knowing I didnt scratch up a $400 painted lip!

OT but, you might have a recall to have those front tow hooks removed. If I am not mistaken it affected like 95-98 models or so. If you bottom out on a dip or curb it could set off the airbags. Get your VIN and call 800-SUBARU3.
