Thumbs up A good word about Specialized Import Auto Service

Winslow and Chris. For the next few months, while I'm in transit, would you please bump this thread occasionally. Tim Ericson and Specialized Import Auto Services really deserves the advertisement. Thanks

I just wanted to spread the word that Tim (and of course Chris) at Specialized Import did me a HUGH favor and great work on getting my
99 imp RS running and turbocharged before I leave Alaska.

Please spread the word and give him any business you can. Tim has been one of the best business men I've had the pleasure to work with in the 26 years I've been working on vehicles.

Take care. Doug aka Resbum

Yup, Sam is working there now. I guess he's trying to wrench but that's hard without tools.

I think my brother might start going there regularly here shortly, after some not so good experiences at Conti.

I have gone to Specialized for a while now and they are great on flipping tires for me.

Subaru of America only warranties repairs performed by a certified Subaru establishment (ie Dealerships) Now there are in special cases, a grant to a repair shop to be used as a sublet by a certified repair facility to warranty something. For example a warranty issue on a vehicle in barrow that certainly can't just drive down to anchorage for a fix.

But otherwise if you have a warranty issue with your Subie it has to go to a dealership. Every car manufacture I know of is like that.

Yes, Specialized does good work.

Someone correctly if I am wrong. When I had some warranty work done on my car, I had to go to the dealer (in this case, I chose Continental Subaru). The limited warranty required that I pay the labor beings that the parts were installed by a shop other than a subaru dealer. I don't recall the exact wording in the warranty but if I had taken them back to the shop where the work was done, that work (parts and labor) would have been on my nickel.

However, if I had the work (that was done by the other shop) done at the dealer instead, then I would not have had to pay the labor costs.

anyone know what specialized's labor rate is? I'm pretty loyal to Ranes and Shines but with all the great things you guys are saying maybe i'll check them out. How long do they warrenty their work?

84.95...warranty is 1yr unlimited miles in that year...no guarantee if we install "aftermarket" parts...
