Thumbs up

Good choice

I can highly recommend Specialty Subaru North Van on Marine Drive. A bunch of Subaru enthusiasts, and that's what you want working on your car.

Book up for a test drive and take along your drivers license.

Not too sure about the STi coming here.

Gethin.

Yes, second that...Specialty Subaru in North Vancouver.

As for the STi, it is sort of confirmed...BUT, nobody knows when, so don't anticipate anything. If you want the WRX, get it...don't hold your breath for the STi.

Akord? Another IC guy joining us?

Yeah, goto Specialty in North Vancouver for sure. They are 100% good people. Make sure you talk to Stephen Skinner when you are there. He will treat you right.

I just got my WRX last week, and am loving it to death. I traded in my Impreza RS for it, so yeah, Im really into the Subaru thing. Trust, they are excellent cars.

The WRX is bit of a hog on start, but watch out after 3Krpm.
whoooosh, is all I can say.

Welcome to the club, and let us know if you have any speciific questions.

What's wrong with richmond subaru and how is specialty better than richmond or don docksteader. And is there anyone out there that was able to pay less than MSRP.

Have a Nice Day?

Grayfox. there have been numerous bad experiences with Rmd Subaru's lack of customer service.. A lot of members on here have had bad experieces with rmd.

Docksteader is a great dealer too, i bought my car from them first. But their service dept. is kinda ... sketchy =)

Specialty brings the best of both worlds.. a top notch sales team/managers.. and awesome service.

Steve and Stephen are the best guys to deal with when you buy a car.

Yes, Richmond Subaru sucks. They wouldn't even give me a price when I went get a quoting on the price. They told me, "Show me the cheque first." $%#%@... I walked out of the door while the sales man was still talking to me.

And Specialty just rock... Just reasonly they hook me with a free wing, and it cost me nothing, not even a penny. I got a WRX wing which worth $550 of market value for just driving down there and get it installed.

Do I love Specialty? Yes, I loooooooooove them!

Kosei's K1 come in 5 bolt now? Cool. But if they came in the right offset or even remotely close, I'm sure people would have picked up a set already. I don't know of anyone that has them yet, so I doubt that they have it in the correct offset.

It really depends on what you want to do with the car. Show? Autocross? Drag? Circuit? Daily driver?

For autocrossing/circuit, I'd say a bigger rear sway bar helps a lot. Suspension work and tires as well.

Drag? Hmm...more boost! Hehehe...search and ye shall find. There are a lot of posts regarding mods to the WRX.

Show? A kit baby! There are quite a few out as well...Zerosports, Syms, C-West, Prodrive, etc....

ehheheeh
damn man, i just spent the last 2 hours surfing i-club on info

hmmm, seems like if i get the car, i'll be going for a kit first, then suspension and rims

im leaning towards more show and prob auto Xing in the near future.... prob is that all the suspension upgrades are gonna kill me, so i gotta take it a step at a time

any other rim suggestions??

hey Keiho, i think i read on another fourm that u did some foglight mod or something?? what was that about??

oh anyone know where to get C-west kit and how much?? and the clear STI fog covers??

what are the bulb sizes in the fogs and the headlights??

thanks guys

A good looking wing? Hehehe...GT wing baby!
The Prodrive rallyesque wing looks nice.
Zerosports I find is nice, others think it's too extreme.

C-West kit? Locally? Don't think anyone can...although if you want it locally, best bet is Technik Motorwerks.

Online though, try B-Spec. Think their website is www.b-specusa.com Not sure. Search for it.

Bulb size I'm sure someone else can tell you.

And the Zerosports wing adapter is kinda hurt if you see it in person.

nope....they won't be perfect fit....i think the smallest offset is 48? which might rub if u lower....sedan's wide fender might help a little bit? u will never know...

Quote:

they do comes in 5 bolts....15" to 17"....but they might not have the 48 offset one in stock...

I too like the Zero Sports adapter, I thought I was the only one :P

Im not a very big fan of their full kit though...Like Keiho said, I find it a bit extreme.

I am however in love with the C-West kit. Check out http://www.rmdistributing.com/vividracing.html they have most kits you can think of, and they have some more coming soon. Dan, the person that runs the place is a good guy, very communicative of his products so far through email. Lots of products on this page.

If you are going to order something from the vendors here, make sure you ask about them first. There are some fishy ones here and there. Worlds not perfect...

Trust me, if you buy this car, you will love this car. I just finished the break in period yesterday, and OMG. This thing is fast, even in stock form. It may get drivers in trouble though, I was going 130, and didnt even know it. I can't wait to buy some goodies for her. I still have a few complaints, but all in all, I really have not driven a car that has all this. If God was on a budget, and could only afford about 4 stacks of "High Society", I have no doubt in my mind he would drive a WRX

Headlights : 9007
Foglights : H3

Ive heard the Sti Model will be around 35K us. 50Kcdn... So its pretty friggin expensive. These are just rumours though, so take with a pound of salt. But if its the same as the JDM spec one, dang it will be good.

http://www.subaru.co.jp/impreza/sti/sti.htm the link for the STi in Japan. I cant read japanese, but I think it translates into "New Super Super Fast Impreza, make kids go weeeeeeee"

And Im not a big fan of Japanese parts. Im more into UK/AUS tuning parts. Some people would say "But its a Japanese car!, It should have Japanese parts!" Well, blah, blah, blah..... blah
So I like the OZ mags, Prodrive/Speedline kinda stuff.... Check those out too.

hey where is speciality located?? whereabouts on marine drive?? I think im gonna go down for a test drive in a few days

well the car I really wanted to wait for was the RSX type R, if it will ever come (maybe like 2 years).... I'm guessing that would be bout 32000, so if I pay a bit more now, I'll have turbo and AWD

hmmmm, I'm just worried that a sweeter car will come within a year or so, cuz after I got the accord, I kinda had regrets that I rushed into getting it. the STi version of the rex is gonna be too much....

EVO 7?? heh.... dunno if it comes or not, but I dunno if I can accept the new design.... plus, the headlights remind me of the accord!!

anyways guys, did u guys consider any other car before settling on the wrx??
