"Can you hear me now???"

You shouldn't have ANYTHING in your car that's loose.. period. And it's a good idea to empty out your center console and glove box. We had a roll over this one time... and there was crap strewn everyplace from the ctr console and he got hit in the eye with something that came out of the ctr console.

Yeah, the only thing I leave in the glove box during autocross is my insurance card and vehicle registration. That way, in case I drive the car to a fast food joint for lunch, I don't have to worry about remembering to grab them.

Actually, I almost never keep anything in the car during race season anyway. Other than the aforementioned insurance card and vehicle registration, I just have the stock lug wrench, the lug nut tool, and a garage door opener. I think that's it. I don't even bother putting the floor mats back in during the week.

Pretty shabby tech inspection if they pass you without a clean inside. Some tech inspector should be getting a talking to from the club president over that one.

Another reason to take everything out is to eliminate distracting rattles and bumps. My car has plenty of rattles that I already know, but when something new starts making noise I can't help but wonder what it is...

^^ The #1 reason there are not supposed to be any loose articles in the car.

The last time I autocrossed I had to clear everything out of the car - including the floor mats before I could even pass tech.

No stupider than the guy who left a full can of soda under the seat, where it punctured on a hard corner, spraying out through the run.

I had an incident where, on the way to the event, I'd stopped at an ATM to get some cash. For whatever reason, the ATM was out of service, and I didn't want to go to another bank's ATM. So, in anger, I threw my bank card up on the dash, and if you know anything about a Camaro dash, it's deep. Very deep. I forgot about the card being up there until my first run, when it slid across from where I'd thrown it and almost out the window. As I saw it sliding, I realized what it was, and tried to grab it. What a disaster.
