Angry Help Me, Help Me, Help Me!

i was on the freeway today, and as i accelerated from about 4000 rpms in third going into fourth, that my acceleration felt really choppy and underpowered, then at about 5000rpm (still going from third to fourth) it smoothed out and delivered full power. more so, i noticed a plume of heavy exhaust emit during hard acceleration. after about fifteen minutes of normal driving after that, a CEL popped up!!

i just wanted to know if any one had anything to offer as an explainantion. cause this sucks!

No idea, but I would take it to the dealer ASAP.

I had a similar problem & it ended up being a bad fuel pressure regulator.. A agree, get it to the dealer but have them check the fuel presure at idle & under boost (~4k rpm). Mine was running about 43psi when not under a load but would hit 65-70 psi under boost, causing a rich condition (choppy/underpowered)from about 4k to 5k..if you floored it then it seemed fine. When FPRs fail the default is too much pressure/gas.
The cel could be reading "system too rich", get it read and you can take it from there.

Go to your local autozone and have them pull the CEL.

Check your air filter element too. I had an intermittent (ultra)rich condition and choppy aceleration that cleared up after I dropped in a fresh panel filter.
