from Neal@TireRack on evolution.net:

This new wheel will replace the very successful Superleggera.

The wheel will be produced 15", 16", 17", 18" and 19"

Bright Silver which OZ calls Crystal Titanium, Light Grey which OZ calls Matte Graphite Silver and Gold which OZ calls Race Gold.

The wheels are lighter than the Superleggera's by an average of 400grams (about 1/2 lb)

Production is starting right now in Italy and we will be building part numbers for them next week. We expect the initial shipment before the end of the year.

The three color choices will not be offered in all applications. The Bright Silver will be the primary color and every part number will be made in this, the light grey version will be offered in select fitments like 4-100 and the Gold will be offered for Subaru and some 5-114

This will be the flagship wheel for OZ to celebrate their F1 Championship and also their 35th anniversary next year.

This is all of the information I have at the moment. How many in what fitments I do not know yet. Once there is word for :mitsu: fitments you will be the first to know

Any nice sizes for the '05-'06 STi?

E.g.,
17x8.5, 5x114.3, offset somewhere between +44 and +48

the first shipment will probably arrive in early 2006 (think Jan./Feb.time frame)

the the Subi fitments are looking like 17x8 ET48 and 18x8 ET48

pricing should be $239.00 for 17" and $295.00 for 18"

1lb = 454g ergo 400g is almost 1 lb not 1/2.

I worry about such a light cast wheel on street apps. Did a lot of people bend the superleggs? I know there were some cases but I didn't hear of a TON.

Call me crazy, but I would love for them to make a beefier version of these for my midwest roads.

I was afraid at first, same reasons you stated, but I have had no problems with my 17x7 superleggera. Initially was paranoid and would swerve and slow down for any sort of bump/pothole, nowadays I dont worry that much. 10x better then my last POS heavy TSW rims

glad they made them wider, wish my where 8 inches wider. Hopefully they improved the offset too and have more clearance for BBKs.
