Default Gift cards for Christmas - Lowe's or Sears?

Which one would you rather get for Christmas if you were wanting to buy some things for the garage like tools and storage?

Bah. visa gift card? Might as well just give cash. Shows that you haven't or dont want to think about the person you're giving a gift at all. Store specific gift cards are generally bad enough, but at least it shows you thought about what they'd like even if you dont know specifically what.

Aren't Lowe's stores more available than Sears stores?
