Default ECU fried?

Car: MY 99 Impreza RS.
Problem: Car died on road, no warning at all. Not the batt/alt/charging system, no dimming of lights or otherwise present. Got towed home, tried starting it, won't start up. Listened for fuel pump to kick on, and nothing. Checked for voltage going to the pump, and no voltage present (except for the blue wire, which I believe is a battery constant of 6VDC). I have a stock factory keyless entry system installed on it since it was new, and I heard of it causing the ECU to fry out.

SO: No voltage going to fuel pump. The wire which supplies to power to kick it (the red/black wire) has 0VDC when it is supposed to have >10VDC. Is it possible that somehow the ECU fried out on me? Exactly which wire on which harness of the ECU can I check to make sure it is putting out the voltage, to narrow it doen even more?

Does your fuel pump prime when you turn the key? I would check to see if your fuel pump relay went out. If you can use a scanner to check for codes in the ECU, and it connects just fine, i would guess the ECU isn't bad.

The first test you can do is check the pinout for the fuel pump relay from the ECU. It will only be on during the 3 second prime.

Check http://www.ravensblade.com/car/modif...ng/wiring.html and check the wiring diagram for your ECU. My guess is that your relay died however.

Where is the fuel pump relay located? I'm more of a mechanical guy... never yet ventured into the electrical aspects of my impreza. Thanks!
