Exclamation Portland Chapter Subaru Club?

Hey, was wondering if anyone out there was interested in a getting together a Subaru Club here in Portland/Salem/VC vicinity? Doesn't have to be anything hardcore, just a group to discuss or help each other out on the Soobs. If there is one already, I would love to join!

Thanks Scooby Grrl,

Looks like an interesting club. That's cool that they meet at Carr. How about you? Are you in any local clubs?

Thumbs up

I'm in SPEC. We haven't had a meeting for a little while, but several of us have gotten together at the last few rally-crosses. Maybe I'll see you around town!

Default Falling asleep...

Sorry if it seems that I've fallen' asleep on the job here... Yeah, it's very easy to be a member! It's free!!! all you have to do is send me an email so I can put you on an email listing to let you know when our next event will be. When you get to the website (http://www.specclub.freeservers.com) you can just go to the link that says "Club Events". That's where I post the next event. It'll be here at Carr Subaru in Beaverton on Sept. 15 around 6:00pm. I hope to see all who is interested in the local club. If there are any questions, just send me an email and I'll answer what I can.

Take Care,

Berns

Great!

Definitely count me in. I will be there with my TS on the 15th. So one thing I would like to know, what else do you guys do besides "meet" and such? I'm not into street racing or anything like that so that's not what I am talking about either.

Thanks

Matthew

We definitly do not Street Race and we do not encourage it!!! We do however, highly enjoy partaking in Rally-x, Auto-x and even ClubRally and ProRally events! We help Hairpin Racing (http://www.hairpinracing.com), Primitive Racing (http://www.writerguy.com/primitive/) and Richard Buckner's car (from Royal Moore). We help them with Servicing the vehicles at rally events. So all of us are into the motorsports, for sure. We occationally get together for dinners and we go go-karting (but it's been a while since we've been to Fast-Trax). We also go to BMW Track Days at PIR. So you can have fun with your car out there. If there's anything, else please be sure to ask!

Man, I wish! Just a GanzFlow Cold Air Intake, a K&N panel filter, Stromung axel-back exhaust, short shifter, and some clear lenses on the outside. A turbo is in the future, I hope, but not until the warrenty is up. And like Bernie said, we don't street race, we keep it all on the track. In fact, if I do ok at the last rally-cross of the season, I'll be able to finish the season in the top 10 (I'm in 8th right now), which isn't bad for my first season! We usually have some kind of tech-talk at the SPEC meetings, plus just hanging out, pics, food, ect. Any tech stuff this time Bernie?

Nah, not yet -_-' Though my intention is to buy and eventually RallyX my own RS, it just doesn't sit right with me to join up when I don't have an Impreza of my own yet. As of now, I'm getting myself an ejumucation so that when I do get my RS, I'll know ahead of time what I wanna do to mod it and how.

I definitely look forward to racing and joining someday! As for now, I'll have to live vicariously through my bf with his RS

Berns,

That sounds great! Yeah, I even purchased my TS from Royal Moore. This Richard Buckner lad, does he work in the parts department? He mentioned to me that he rallies a yellow subie. I would love to join up with you guys, just for kicks. I've never been at a rally event either. Would love to get my wagon dirty! The only track time I ever had was years ago. I owned a HB at one point. It ran low 13s and that was about it. This TS of mine really reminds me of it. Oh, BMWs too? Preeetty cool......

HondaH8ter,

Dude, you actually don't mind abusing your car (under warrenty for that matter!). Man, live it up! Don't you have at least something to reinforce the chasis? I'd recommend that, though I have no experience whatsoever! Do you guys ever run at the track or is it always in the dirt?

ScoobyGrrl,

Oh yeah, more power to you. That's the best way to do things. That way, you'll be able to "in your mind" pick what would be best, what you think you would like the most! Hey, maybe you might end up getting the exact same car and color you bf has! Not interest in the TS eh?

Well zzzzzzzzzz (did I get enough )

You want to get a good start in Rally and meet the man with the Yellow car.

http://www.i-club.com/forums/showthr...threadid=87111

Paul is in serious need of help on this one. Richard, the guy in the parts department, is Paul's Crew chief. Well strange that Richard did not mention that he is running his own car at WW.

It's short notice but if you can help him out, he will be able to help you out. Not to mention that you will learn a lot! And have fun at the same time.

Yeah, it's still under warrenty, but I don't abuse it too bad As for chassis reinforcement, I have a front strut tower bar, but still want a rear strut tower bar and strengthened sway bar mounts, especially since I have a bigger rear bar. But I do have a rear diff protector that I still need to install. Rally-cross really in't too hard on your car, since it's on fairly flat dirt and grass, and the hadest thing you can hit is a cone, unless a corner worker gets in the wrong place. Here's a pic of me at the last rally-x up at the ORV Park during the West Coast Meet (pic courtesy Jamie Thomas, a.k.a. SubieGal):
