Default Reading the Dipstick (Engine Oil)

Will it read slightly higher or lower if the car is parked on a (very) slight up-slope (facing up of course)? Thanks.

i don't think that's a question someone has an answer to, but you WILL get an inaccurate reading if not checking on a leveled surface.

The dipstick is sorta towards the front, so it should read low if the car's pointing uphill. Anyone can check this by jacking the front up some more, then checking the dipstick again.

You could even jack the rear, until the car's perfectly level. Then make the oil perfect by adding or whatever. Then let it down & check again. Now you'll know where it should read on your favorite non-level parking spot. I wouldn't do it this way if it's very steep.

Subarus are the worst cars I've ever seen for getting an accurate reading on the dipstick. The thing has to be perfectly level. It seems like every time I check it reads differently.

It's the first car where I had to check my dipstick 4 or 5 times to get a somewhat accurate reading.
