Default Want a really cool license plate? For PA SCCA members only.

This plate offering was initially for the Philly Region of the SCCA only. Due to lower than anticipated orders, the plates are now available for all Pennsylvania SCCA members. Let the world know you are an SCCA member!

So, if one gets stopped for a minor traffic infraction, do you think the officer will be influenced one way or another by this plate? Maybe that's a subject for OT!

I still think SCCA dropping rally was the best thing to happen to rally in a long time, and a lot of the rally community would agree...Rally America and NASA have had and will continue to have growing pains, but are focused on making Rally in the US succede.

All I have to say is that the philly region devoted a lot of time RE-WRITING their charter just to get these stupid plates. To me, that seems like an incredible waste of time, especially since there are programs that are suffering from undersubscribed entries, workers, and organizers.

Huh? Where should they spend their time?

I appreciate all of their work, especially all of the volunteers in the Philly Region.

I just finished reading the subdriven.com thing and have all kinds of feelings about this. How long ago was this written? I know of lots of people out here in Indiana that are very interested in Rally and are not sure where to go with their interest, me included. I go to the local meets and everybody I know that has a subie is interested into these things. Is the SCCA a national thing, or is it local to PA. I thought it was national but I'm a little confused now. I guess its really not important now that they're not doing rally anymore. If I go to rally somewhere, I would like to rally where I have to pass scruiteneering and a tech exam on the cars. I would like to be driving with other people who also know how to drive (not saying that I am any kind of expert). Anybody know of any good places? I AM MORE THAN WILLING AND WANT VERY MUCH TO SUPPORT A RALLY SOMEWHERE!!

Yeah, I responded with a question, hoping you would clarify about the 'incredible waste of time'. What program is suffering?

<--concerned philly region member, who thinks the plates are cool.

To clarify my question - it was not sarcasm or bashing - I like the SCCA and really like the Philly region, which I'm a small part of.

I'm trying to decide whether or not to get an SCCA plate and part of that is because I'm worried that it is like a red flag to the police if I am ever in a position of being pulled over. Kinda the opposite of having an FOP badge!

Andy,
I think you are worrying too much. Even with all of my stickers & lack of a muffler, I've never been harrassed by the police. I was pulled over for speeding, but I deserved that, and I would of been ticketed no matter what I was driving.

I think they are more concerned with what's on your record & how well you cooperate. If you respect them, they will respect you.

I would tend to think it shows you are a car enthusiast who races responsibly and legally. How many SCCA decals do you see at street races? < I would not as I have never been to one. Really.

The "We still need more orders and I REALLY want the plate I ordered back in October!" bump.

They look pretty cool but I now have DE tags and the lovely 5 years of no inspection on a new car that goes with it.

Instead I am getting one of the small black porcelain plates with only 5 white numbers on it which is really the cleanest looking plate I have ever seen.

I would also like to know what you think is wrong with the Philly SCCA? I have been to many regions and no else is as friendly as the philly region.
