Looks like it's starting to come together. I found the ant thing very funny. I had the same thing happen when I parked my old mustang in a field over summer.

It's getting there...although we're not sure exactly where "there" is.

I've got this hankering to spray the entire thing military drab green.

Nah, we've already got a "rat rod" with our Civic, this was more of a US Army idea. The knobby rally tires are what gave me the idea..it rides like a military jeep on pavement.

Well thats the ultimate goal with the car? Have you thought about swapping, at the very least an RS motor will provide A LOT of bang for the buck.

IIRC the goal is for the car to be a PGT car so that swap would make it illegal for PGT.

true, but then again, we'll probably be slow in any class (being rally novices...)

Haha, well that might be true. But the ultra-short gearing and the stump pulling torque will help immensly.

Also, what complaints or rather, shortcoming does the car currently have?

Honestly, not a good enough driver. Autocross I can do, this is a completely new ballgame. A fun one though. My thinking is to learn, write about the learning process, fix what breaks....etc.

Per, am I reading that right? Looks like you set the fastest time out of everyone on your first run, won your class and then finished 3rd overall. Not bad for a newb!

I'll be humble and admit that I had decent conditions for my first run, it degraded quickly from there. Still a lot to learn.

Cage is coming along nicely. The weld-in cage kit has some compromises, but even with a skill installer will probably work out to be a bargain.

There is also the replacement of a 25RS... but they are WAY pricey, and I would rather roll an inexpensive car, or drive a relatively inexpensive car so I can push without too much worry.

Keep the updates coming as the intake box was a GREAT idea.

Ps. Check your air filter after every event

It's a 2.2.

I painted the cage yellow....to match the stripes. Bigggggg mistake. After cleaning off the overspray with carb cleaner (and catching a wicked buzz) I still have a bunch of spots of overspray.

Wow -- a 2.2L! If you ever decide to get the most out of the engine, let us know what you do. The Legacy needs some pep as well!

Pics and results from the latest RallyCross are posted. That's one tough little Impreza.

Just because I would like to know --- what other cars were you competing against? I ask this for the sake that I have noticed that the 2.2L Subarus are pretty darn good, but driving it faster than a well driven WRX is possible, but a well driven 2.5RS or STi is about impossible.

Thanks, and I am HIGHLY considering picking up a 2.2L 5spd Impreza (Legacy is gasping ). Thanks for all the hard work, guys!

It's a mix of WRXs, Imprezas, Golfs. With only 14 drivers, the talent pool isn't that deep here in Florida (yet) but we're pretty happy getting that close to Duncker, who is REALLY fast.

Also, with how some of these ruts develop, it's not a matter of talent, sometimes it's a lack of fear that help!
