Question info about PDX dealers

I am moving to Portland within the week and am planning to lease a wagon for a 3 year period. I saw the posting about the Carr dealers.

Any evaluations about the others?

Thumbs down thomason, PDX

I bought a 00 Legacy from thomason in portland. They have a monopoly on the market there, and have a dealership for every type of make there is. It took about 7 hours to haggle with them because the car was on ad and I had a trade-in. At one point, I gave up and told the finance manager to screw himself and walked out of the building. My salesguy actually came running out to my car as I was about to pull out of the dealership and told me they would do the deal. I mean, do they really expect us to take them seriously? Other people I know have had really positive dealings with thomason. I think they don't like me because:

1. I'm a woman who actually knows about the car I'm buying and what it's worth.
2. I always have a trade-in.
3. I always buy and will never lease.
4. I won't back down and pay more than ad price.
5. I'm young. Any dealership who tells you they don't discriminate on the basis of age is lying. Tell me how my father-in-law can buy a new limited Legacy Outback in 2 hours with a trade and I'm there for 7 hours haggling.

Thumbs up Carr Subaru

These guys are great, have the best prices and will match anything you find.

They got my WRX for dealer invoice. Of course it had to be pre-order from Subaru of America and I had to wait 2 months, but for dealer invoce of $23,404.00 (sorry, I have issues with manuals), it was well worth it.

Great dealership...

I got mine from Carr for 800 over invoice back in June... I too waited 8 weeks...

7 hours! With bloodsucking car salesmen no less.
You must have really wanted that Legacy. Personally I try to spend as little time as possible at dealers. I think I've bought all my cars over the phone and probably spent less than an hour at the dealer doing the paperwork.

Regarding the original question about Portland dealers...
Carr seems to have the best service department in the area.
But if you are leasing the car you probably won't care too much about maintenance (at least I wouldn't)
